According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, during the 4-day holiday, the capital's tourism industry welcomed about 560,000 visitors, an increase of about 250% compared to the same period last year.
In which, international tourists are estimated to reach 110,000 arrivals, an increase of about 287%; domestic tourists reached about 450,000 arrivals, an increase of about 241%.
This is the highest number of visitors the Capital's tourism industry has ever recorded during the New Year holiday.

Total revenue from tourists during the 4 days of New Year holiday 2026 is estimated at 2.1 trillion VND, an increase of about 254% compared to the same period in 2025.
This strong growth comes from many factors, in which the 4-day holiday is prominent - longer than the 2025 New Year holiday with only one day off. The long holiday creates favorable conditions for people and tourists to proactively arrange time for rest, sightseeing, and tourism.
During the 2026 New Year holiday, the average stay time of tourists to Hanoi tends to increase, continuing to affirm the position of the Capital as an attractive, friendly and safe destination.
The average room occupancy rate of hotels in the city is estimated at 73.8%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2025. Many hotels and high-end apartment complexes achieve very high occupancy rates, especially in the 4-5 star segment.
According to preliminary statistics from destinations, during the 3 days of the 2026 New Year holiday, from January 1st to January 3rd, 2026, the number of visitors to many tourist areas and attractions increased sharply. Hanoi Zoo welcomed 38,350 visitors; Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam relic welcomed 22,848 visitors; Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic welcomed more than 9,000 visitors; Hoa Lo Prison relic welcomed 11,259 visitors.

Other destinations also recorded a significant number of visitors such as Duong Lam Ancient Village with 5,500 visitors; Bao Son Paradise nearly 6,000 visitors; Duong Xa tourist destination (Gia Lam) 3,560 visitors; Hoan Kiem ward attractions 2,450 visitors; Bat Trang 1,850 visitors; Huong Pagoda 1,686 visitors; Ba Vi 1,560 visitors and Ung Thien commune welcomed about 1,000 visitors.
These figures show that Hanoi's tourism picture has improved right from the early days of 2026, creating a positive foundation for the goal of sustainable recovery and growth of the Capital's tourism industry throughout the year.
