Ho Chi Minh City innovates tourism products, welcoming visitors on the occasion of April 30th holiday

Ho Chi Minh City - On the occasion of April 30 - May 1 holiday, the city promotes product innovation, strengthens linkages and launches many incentives to attract tourists and stimulate urban tourism demand.

During the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and April 30 - January 1 this year, the Ho Chi Minh City tourism market has become bustling as many destinations, travel businesses and accommodation establishments simultaneously implement new programs, increasing the experience for tourists.

At Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area, a series of holiday activities are organized diversely. On the occasion of Hung Kings Commemoration Day (March 10th of the lunar calendar), visitors can immerse themselves in the spiritual cultural space, historical stage programs. In particular, the unit also gives 10,000 portions of rice to show gratitude.

In addition, on April 30th, a tank parade will take place to spread the message of peace. Notably, the unit gives 1,000 gate tickets to tourists wearing red and yellow star shirts.

In April, Dam Sen Cultural Park organized many new activities to celebrate the series of major festivals, contributing to enriching entertainment products to serve people and tourists.

Meanwhile, the Cu Chi Tunnels historical relic site promotes experiential products such as the Battle Zone Midnight Tour, visits to the mini zoo, sports shooting activities and Khmer cultural experience programs.

Travel businesses in the area also strengthen the connection of typical destinations of the city through modern and environmentally friendly means of transport such as 2-story buses, trams, river buses, and metro, bringing diverse experiences to tourists.

Many traditional tour programs associated with history have been implemented such as "From Mau Than to the Great Spring Victory", "Legends of the Sác Forest Special Forces Heroes - Steel Land of the Bronze Citadel - Ho Chi Minh City", "Saigon Special Forces - Legendary Tunnels".

At the same time, typical tourism products such as Binh Tay Market, touching old traces, Tan Dinh Imprint, Saigon welcomes a new day, Saigon night shows off its colors, Countryside colors continue to be renewed. Notably, the product of admiring Ho Chi Minh City from above by helicopter has been put back into operation, promising to become a highlight during this year's holiday.

In the accommodation sector, 3-5 star hotels focus on exploiting the domestic market, and at the same time, implement many preferential programs with room discounts commonly from 20 - 50%. Some accommodation establishments also apply preferential policies for customers with nighttime air tickets.

Mr. Pham Huy Binh - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that in the face of market fluctuations, the city's tourism industry orients businesses to improve the quality and value of products instead of just increasing prices. The goal is to attract groups of tourists with high spending levels, extend stays and increase experiences.

In the first quarter of 2026, the number of international, domestic and revenue visitors all increased. This is the basis for expecting the tourism industry in 2026 to continue to grow strongly, contributing to the city's economic growth target.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the "Reunification of the Mountains and Rivers" Festival to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026).

According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City will set off fireworks at 7 locations, including 3 high-altitude locations and 4 low-altitude locations from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM on the 30th. 4.
