Tourism continues to be one of the bright spots of Ho Chi Minh City's economy when actively contributing to service and consumption growth, creating jobs and promoting the image of a dynamic and friendly destination. In the first 4 months of 2026, Ho Chi Minh City's total tourism revenue is estimated at 172,000 billion VND, equal to 52.1% of the annual plan. International visitors to the city are estimated at about 4.78 million, while domestic tourists reach about 19.2 million.
Over the past time, the city's tourism industry has continued to implement many activities to stimulate demand, develop new products and refresh the experience for tourists. Businesses and many localities are promoting the exploitation of local potential to form more unique tourism products.

In Dong Thanh commune, the locality is focusing on building tourism products from rustic materials such as traditional culture and art, local specialties and recreating festival rituals. Many experiential activities have been developed such as rural markets, rowing boats, releasing lanterns or the "one day as a farmer" model.
This place also aims to connect destinations such as flower fields, Dong Thanh pottery kilns and Saigon riverside space to create a diverse product chain for tourists. In parallel, there is the adjustment of planning, upgrading infrastructure, human resource training and strengthening links with neighboring localities to develop waterway and road tourism.

In addition, Can Gio continues to be expected to become a new highlight of Ho Chi Minh City tourism thanks to its advantages of mangrove ecosystem, sea and unique ecological space.
This area has great potential for developing ecotourism products, resorts, waterway tourism, fishermen's cultural experiences and coastal night economy. At the same time, the city's promotion of investment in connecting transport infrastructure with service development projects and coastal urban areas will contribute to creating more motivation for Can Gio to attract tourists and diversify the tourism ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City.
In the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism will continue to focus on developing community tourism products, ecotourism and night economy. At the same time, promote promotion and preparation for many major events such as the 20th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair - ITE HCMC 2026.
