On the morning of April 28, Phong Nha Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that it had just organized a general deployment to thoroughly handle the situation of motorbikes swerving, soliciting tourists and violating traffic safety corridors in the area.
Recently, at traffic points such as Pha Xuan Son market intersection and Ho Chi Minh road intersection leading to Phong Nha - Ke Bang tourist area, the situation of insecurity and disorder has become complicated.
Some motorbike taxi drivers and people from business establishments regularly drive at high speed, swerving, and chasing passenger cars to distribute leaflets and solicit.
Not only causing traffic unsafety, these acts also create offensive images, affecting the tourism environment. In addition, the situation of encroaching on roadsides and sidewalks, placing advertising signs against regulations still recurs, reducing urban aesthetics.
Faced with the above situation, Phong Nha Commune People's Committee held a meeting with relevant forces under the chairmanship of Commune People's Committee Chairman Phan Hai Ha. Immediately after that, the locality established 3 working groups, conducted inspections and sweeps at "hot spots", using recording equipment as a basis for handling.
Initial results, functional forces have made records of 2 violations and temporarily seized related vehicles. At the same time, the commune government worked with business households along the key route, requesting them to sign commitments not to solicit customers, not to encroach on sidewalks, and to ensure a civilized business environment.
In the coming time, Phong Nha Commune People's Committee will continue to maintain regular patrols, resolutely handle violations, enforce the dismantling of encroaching works and consider publicizing the list of violating establishments for deterrence.
Local authorities affirmed that they will resolutely restore urban order, ensure a safe and civilized tourism environment, worthy of the famous heritage site.
