Launching a campaign to crack down on encroachment on roads and sidewalks
The inter-sectoral inspection team on road and sidewalk order and environmental sanitation of Cat Hai special zone has just simultaneously launched measures to restore urban order in Cat Ba tourist area, in order to rectify the situation of sidewalk and road encroachment that causes unsightliness and affects tourism activities.
Accordingly, functional forces focus on inspecting and strictly handling cases of arbitrarily placing ornamental plants, advertising signs, business tables and chairs, and personal belongings encroaching on sidewalks and roadways. In many key streets, especially the tourist center area, the situation of encroachment has been detected and handled promptly, contributing to ensuring traffic safety and creating a clear space for people and tourists.
During the implementation process, the inter-sectoral inspection team on road and sidewalk order and environmental sanitation of Cat Hai special zone proceeded to collect all violating items, including ornamental plants, billboards, and advertising signs placed in violation of regulations. At the same time, propagate and mobilize business households to sign commitments not to re-encroach on sidewalks. Cases of intentional violations are handled according to the provisions of law.
The deployment was organized methodically and synchronously, with close coordination with relevant functional forces, ensuring the correct procedures and regulations. The task force both resolutely handled violations and combined propaganda to raise people's awareness about maintaining urban order and building an image of a civilized and friendly destination.
After implementing measures, many roads in Cat Ba tourist area have become more open, and sidewalks have been restored to their correct functions to serve pedestrians.
Representatives of the Inter-sectoral Inspection Team on Road and Sidewalk Order and Environmental Sanitation of Cat Hai Special Zone said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to maintain regular inspections, thoroughly handle arising violations, and prevent the recurrence of sidewalk and road encroachment. At the same time, strengthen propaganda and guidance for organizations and individuals to strictly comply with regulations on management and use of roads and sidewalks.

Prohibiting cars from 16 seats from parking in the center of Cat Ba
Along with launching a campaign to restore order to roads and sidewalks, the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone also announced the prohibition of all cars with 16 seats or more (except for priority cars according to regulations) from parking in the Cat Ba tourist center area from April 1. Specifically, the special zone prohibits parking and stopping cars with 16 seats or more on the streets: Cat Ba (road 1-4), Tung Dinh, Nui Ngoc, Cat Tien, Nui Xe street and Lo II - Nui Ngoc route.
Vehicles will be arranged to be parked at prescribed points, including: passenger transfer point combined with parking lot at Ang Soi intersection (Hung Son village) and Ben Beo parking lot (Cat Ba village 11), and some other locations arranged by the Special Zone Project Management Board. For fixed passenger car routes, passenger pick-up and drop-off and departure confirmation are carried out at Ang Soi transfer point.
The locality also prioritizes developing suitable transportation types such as electric vehicles, small buses, and shuttle buses to reduce traffic pressure in the central area. From there, ensure traffic order and safety, limit congestion, enhance urban aesthetics and build the image of "Cát Bà xanh", serving sustainable tourism development.
