On the afternoon of September 20, at the Government Guest House, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District in collaboration with the National Archives Center I opened the 3D Exhibition "Dear Compatriots of the Capital".
For the first time, a 3D exhibition was built, introducing to the public documents and illustrations of the struggle against the French by the Hanoi army and people from the late 19th century to 1954. Many of these documents were published for the first time.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, Pham Tuan Long, said: "In order to continue to effectively implement Resolution 09 of the Hanoi Party Committee on developing cultural industries in the capital for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 and a vision to 2045, in the coming time, Hoan Kiem District will continue to focus on preserving, promoting and further promoting the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the district to people, domestic and foreign tourists through cultural activities, events, festivals...".
Mr. Dang Thanh Tung, Director of the State Records and Archives Department, affirmed: “I highly appreciate the creative ideas and efforts of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, in coordination with the National Archives Center I under the State Records and Archives Department (Ministry of Home Affairs) in organizing this exhibition to provide useful information about the history of Hanoi Capital - a land of thousands of years of culture, heroes and peace in the flow of Vietnamese history, contributing to nurturing the spirit of patriotism and pride of the people of Hanoi, along with the development of cultural industry in the capital”.
Speaking at the program, historian Duong Trung Quoc, General Secretary of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, shared: “The 3D exhibition is a very remarkable change, in line with the current trend with the goal of preserving and conserving memories during the historical war period. This is a quick, civilized approach that is easy to understand for all ages, from children to the elderly.
While telling a story about his childhood during the resistance war against the French, the historian recalled: “The sentence I remember most is the theme sentence of today: “Dear compatriots of the Capital” - a familiar call during the resistance war. During nearly a century under the yoke of French colonialism, many popular struggles took place vigorously.”
The exhibition consists of three parts. Part 1, titled “Hanoi on fire, smoke and fire filling the sky”, introduces photo documents about the early stages of the French colonial invasion. Part 2, “Hanoi rising up”, features images of the revolutionary struggle in Hanoi from 1930 to 1954.
Part 3 is “Hanoi on the day of victory”, introducing documents and images of the liberation day, the triumphant song forever echoes, especially the image of the national flag flying on the Hanoi Flagpole, marking the end of nine years of our nation's long resistance war.
Nguyen Minh Nam, 22 years old, a visitor to the exhibition, shared: “I am very impressed with today's exhibition. As a native of the capital and a lover of history, I came here with excitement and anticipation to experience it. Digital technology is now practical for everyone, of all ages. Many young people who are afraid to read books to find information can now scan QR codes to see images.”
The exhibition offers interesting experiences using digital technology, providing useful information about Hanoi, a thousand-year-old culture. This is also a way to convey patriotism and national pride of Hanoians.
