The exhibition was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital by the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District in coordination with the National Archives Center I.

The online 3D exhibition allows viewers to experience Hanoi during the resistance war against French colonialism anytime, anywhere.

Documents and images will be presented in a 3D space from Hanoi Citadel to Dong Xuan Market, passing through the Old Quarter and Opera House Square towards Bac Bo Palace.

The exhibition is divided into 3 parts: Part 1 - Hanoi on fire, smoke and fire filling the sky, introduces photo documents about the early stages of the French colonial invasion in Hanoi.

Part 2 - Hanoi rises up, introduces documents and images about the revolutionary struggles in Hanoi from 1930 to 1954.

Part 3 - Hanoi on the day of victory, introducing documentary images, images of Liberation Day, forever echoing the song of triumph.

The organizers hope that this exhibition will bring interesting experiences to the public of the Capital using digital technology, providing useful information about the history of Hanoi - the land of thousands of years of culture, heroes and peace in the flow of Vietnamese history, contributing to nurturing the patriotism and pride of Hanoi people along with the development of cultural industry in the Capital.

"Hoi dong bao Thu do!" was also a familiar call during the resistance war against French colonialism in Hanoi. During nearly a century under the yoke of French colonialism, especially since the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, many popular struggles took place vigorously, creating a premise for later uprisings.

After 8 years of fierce resistance, the people of the capital were happy to welcome the victorious army marching to liberate Hanoi. The red flag with yellow star fluttered on the Hanoi Flagpole, ending a journey full of hardships, sacrifices but extremely heroic and glorious.

The capital Hanoi was resplendent with the light of Peace - Independence - Freedom in the days of October 1954.
