On July 16, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum announced that it is coordinating with the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center (Hanoi City) to organize a thematic exhibition "From Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Thang Long to Van Mieu Dien Khanh" with the theme "Vietnamese Heritage - Colors of Khanh Hoa Culture".
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum assessed that this is one of the activities in response to the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, taking place at Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum (facility 1, No. 16 Tran Phu, Nha Trang ward) from July 15 to the end of August 31.
The exhibition introduces the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam relic, which emphasizes the role of Quoc Tu Giam - the most advanced and typical educational center of Vietnam under the monarchy.
Through a system of selected paintings, photos, artifacts and documents, the exhibition recreates the history of formation and development of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam - the first university of Vietnam.
At the same time, honoring the tradition of studiousness, the spirit of respecting teachers and valuing morality and lifelong learning.
The exhibition space is divided into three parts.
The first part introduces the overall picture of the National Special Relic Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, including the overall space, typical architectural works, typical celebrities and the system of Doctor steles - World Documentary Heritage.
The second part introduces Quoc Tu Giam - the first national school of Vietnam, reflecting the formation and development of Quoc Tu Giam.
Learning methods, regulations, and exam rules under the monarchy; and introducing the background and career of three kings who played an important role in the formation and development of Quoc Tu Giam, including Ly Thanh Tong, Ly Nhan Tong and Le Thanh Tong.
The third part introduces activities to promote the value of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic such as foreign affairs activities, heritage education, scientific conferences, exhibitions, workshops and Van Mieu night tours.
Within the framework of the exhibition, there are also many experiential activities for visitors such as learning about the old classrooms of Confucian students through interaction with calligraphers on the iPad application; practicing writing ancient Han script, printing ancient Han script woodblocks on Doctor steles.
People and tourists also have the opportunity to learn about Confucian scholars' books and experience making books with Do paper in traditional methods.
