On April 26, the Phong Nha Cave Exploration Information Center and Son Doong 5D Experience officially opened for free visitors.
The project was built by Oxalis Company to recognize the contributions of explorer Howard Limbert and his colleagues in the journey of more than 35 years of exploring the cave system in the area.

Before 1990, Phong Nha was a remote area by the Son River, people mainly lived on forests. A turning point occurred when the British Royal Expedition conducted surveys, opening up the potential for cave tourism development.
To date, Mr. Howard Limbert's team has discovered 472 caves with a total length of more than 254 km, many famous destinations such as En cave, Va cave, Paradise cave and especially Son Doong, the largest cave in the world.

Tourism activities have created jobs for more than 5,000 local workers, and at the same time promoted the development of a accommodation system with more than 150 hotels and homestays, contributing to improving people's lives.
The new center is designed like a "miniature cave", recreating the journey of exploration with images, documents, maps and exploration equipment. The architectural space simulates stalactites, combines modern lighting and ventilation, bringing a realistic experience to visitors.

The highlight is the Son Doong experience tour using 5D VR technology, 8K images, 180-degree viewing angle, integrated sound effects, temperature, movement. The journey lasts 15 minutes, priced at 500,000 VND/trip. All revenue is put into the Oxalis Foundation community fund.

The center is open to all audiences from April 26, contributing to spreading heritage values and promoting sustainable tourism in the region.
