The sprint race
In the first 10 months of 2025, the total number of international visitors reached nearly 17.2 million, an increase of 21.5% over the same period last year, according to the Statistics Office. From now until the end of the year, the Vietnamese tourism industry needs to welcome about 7.8 million international visitors to reach the target of 25 million for the whole year of 2025.
Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism - said that the goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors in 2025 requires great efforts from the entire industry, from the central to local levels and businesses. Before the acceleration phase, he proposed to promote the application of technology, online sales, open new routes and exploit charter flights to key markets such as: India, Australia, Russia, the US...
To make the most of the peak season at the end of the year, the Vietnamese tourism industry needs to focus all its efforts to attract visitors to famous destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City...
Taking advantage of attracting international visitors
Vietnam's tourism industry is assessed to have grown and recovered very quickly in recent times, especially in the first half of 2025 when it became one of the countries with the best growth rate of visitors in the Asia-Pacific region, reaching 21% - according to the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).
Regarding the target of 25 million visitors this year, I think that if there is the unity of all tourism businesses - from accommodation establishments, transportation businesses, hotels to travel businesses - the target can be completely achieved - Ms. Le Thi Hoa - Director of Hanoitourist Travel Company - answered Lao Dong.
She commented that the last months of the year are the time to focus on many major holidays such as Christmas, New Year, Traditional New Year... creating favorable conditions to attract international visitors to Vietnam during the peak season.
To make Vietnam more attractive to tourists at the end of the year, Mr. Pham Ha, CEO of Lux Group, suggested measures that Thailand has applied, such as increasing visa exemptions, giving domestic air tickets or hotel rooms to international visitors from source markets, especially potential markets with large numbers of visitors.
The CEO of the group specializing in providing luxury tourism services exclusively for high-end customers emphasized that it is not necessary to increase the target of welcoming international visitors to 25 million, but if the revenue increase is 30% it will also be a very positive result for Vietnam tourism.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is promoting tourism promotion programs. From November 1 to 13, a program to introduce Vietnam tourism took place in 03 cities of Washington DC, New York, Boston in the US with the theme "Vietnam: A World of Experiences, Exceptional Value" - "Vietnam: World of experiences, outstanding values".
Vietnam tourism is also present at the World Travel Mart (WTM) 2025 - the world's largest tourism fair.
