On the evening of September 3, the 31st World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania 2024 took place in Manila, Philippines.
Vietnam received 3 awards: “Asia's Leading Destination 2024”, “Asia's Leading Heritage Destination 2024” and “Asia's Leading Nature Destination 2024”. This is the 6th time in the past 7 years that Vietnam has been honored as “Asia's Leading Destination” (in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
This year, Vietnam has surpassed many strong candidates to achieve this noble title, namely China, India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.

At the local level, this year, Hanoi continued to be honored in the categories of “Asia’s Leading City Destination” and “Asia’s Leading Short-Term City Destination”. Ho Chi Minh City continued to win the awards of “Asia’s Leading Business Destination” and “Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination”. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism received the title of “Asia’s Leading City Tourism Management Agency” for the second time.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province has been honored for the first time as “Asia’s Leading Local Tourism Management Agency”. According to the Department’s representative, this is a proud result, affirming the position and brand of Quang Nam tourism on the international tourism map.

Hoi An ancient town was honored to receive the award “Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination” for the 5th time. Moc Chau “Green Pearl” won the award “Asia’s Leading Local Natural Destination” for the 3rd time in a row.
Notably, Ha Giang was named for the first time in the category of “Asia’s Leading Local Cultural Tourism Destination”. Ha Nam province was named for the first time in the category of “Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination”.
Along with that, many famous Vietnamese brands in the fields of hotels, resorts, airlines, travel businesses... were also honored in many categories of Asia's top awards 2024.
Cuc Phuong National Park has been honored as “Asia's Leading National Park” for the sixth consecutive time.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Vietnam's continuous honor at the award dubbed the "Oscar of the tourism industry" is proof of the strong appeal of the Vietnamese tourism brand on the world tourism map, receiving the love of many international friends and partners.
This is a golden opportunity and a great motivation for the Vietnamese tourism industry to continue its efforts to promote and publicize outstanding values, spread the image of Vietnam widely around the world, and attract more and more international tourists to Vietnam.
