Within the framework of the national tourism promotion campaign "Visit Malaysia 2026", a series of large-scale events will take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from July 29 to August 2, 2025.
The highlights of this program are the Malaysia Tourism, Arts, Culture and Cuisine Festival 2025, and the Launching Ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2026 in Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event on August 1 in Hanoi, Mr. Dato' Sri Tiong King Sing - Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia - emphasized: "Vietnam has always been one of Malaysia's most important tourism partners in Southeast Asia. We believe that this event will open up new, stronger cooperation, aiming at the goal of sustainable tourism development and mutual benefit.
On this occasion, the Malaysian tourism industry has had many promotional activities in Vietnam, including working sessions with airlines, travel companies and media partners.
Notably, the signing ceremony of cooperation between the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Agency in Vietnam and Vietnam Airlines took place in Hanoi. This agreement marks an important step forward in enhancing aviation connectivity and cooperation in promoting destinations, aiming to attract an increasingly large two-way traffic between the two countries.

Vietnam is currently one of Malaysia's leading tourist markets in Southeast Asia, with more than 168,000 Vietnamese visitors to Malaysia in the first half of 2025.
On the other hand, Vietnam welcomed 266,000 Malaysian visitors, making Malaysia the second largest ASEAN tourist market.
As of July 2025, there are a total of 164 direct flights per week between Vietnam and Malaysia, with nearly 30,000 seats, connecting major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc and Nha Trang to Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu.
Malaysia is promoting tourism in the Vietnamese market through many events such as Malaysia MADANI Week in Hanoi, Malaysia Tourism - Culture - Food Festival 2025 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Long-term campaigns such as Malaysia - Second House (MM2H) and Visit Malaysia 2026 are also being promoted, aiming to build the image of Malaysia as a diverse, attractive and friendly destination for Vietnamese tourists.
