Flight Centre's survey analysed responses from more than 170,000 travellers from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada and the UK to determine the top 10 most popular countries to visit in 2024.
Accordingly, Vietnam is in the top 10 countries in the world for tourists. Other countries in the ranking include Portugal (1st), Cook Islands (2nd), Australia (3rd), Japan (4th), Spain (5th), Singapore (6th), Greece (7th), Ireland (8th), Turkey (9th).
“There are some surprising results that show that traditionally popular destinations don’t always have something special to offer travellers,” said Flight Centre Global CEO Andrew Stark.
According to Flight Centre, Vietnam's appeal comes from its famous landmarks: "Immerse yourself in the charming atmosphere of elegant Hanoi and you will find this is the most charming capital with the most unique beauty in Asia.
Continuing to Ha Long Bay - considered the jewel of Northern Vietnam, visitors will experience a traditional sailing boat trip. Ho Chi Minh City is bustling and modern, especially attractive with historical relics...".
In addition, Vietnam also attracts tourists with its unique cuisine, including fresh dishes with aromatic spices such as ginger, lemongrass, chili, soy sauce...
Flight Centre suggests some must-try dishes when coming to Vietnam: Pho, banh mi, banh xeo, chicken rice, bun cha, egg coffee, coconut coffee, condensed milk coffee, rice paper rolls, cao lau, duck eggs...
