Malaysia promotes tourism in Vietnam

The Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board has implemented many activities to promote tourism in the Vietnamese market with the goal of attracting 27.3 million international visitors.

From September 11 to September 16, Tourism Malaysia will coordinate with the Malaysian Consulate General to organize the “Beautiful Taste of Malaysia” culinary week in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This event is an opportunity for tourists to experience the rich cuisine and traditional culture of Malaysia.

Previously, from September 5 to September 7, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board also participated in the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Fair. Malaysia introduced to customers attractive destinations and interesting tourism products.

In addition, the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Agency has strengthened cooperation with travel agencies and Ho Chi Minh City tourism associations to create diverse tours suitable to the needs of Vietnamese tourists.

Ms. Nor Hayati Zainuddin - Director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam said that Vietnam is an important market for Malaysia, and the initiatives promoted by the Board are all aimed at attracting more Vietnamese tourists.

With a significant increase in direct flights from Vietnam to Malaysia, the country is positioned as an attractive, preferred tourist destination in the region. All of this is geared towards the success of “Visit Malaysia Year 2026.”

The Tourism Promotion Board of Malaysia expects growth from the ASEAN market, including Vietnam. Currently, there are 142 direct flights from Vietnam to Malaysia every week, expected to attract 27.3 million international visitors and bring in tourism revenue of 102.7 billion Malaysian Ringgit (22.82 billion USD) in 2024.
