On September 26, Vinh Long held a seminar on "Developing river tourism products". The seminar was part of the river tourism product survey program and attracted the participation of provincial People's Committee leaders, experts, the press and many tourism businesses.
At the seminar, the provincial leaders emphasized that river tourism is an important type, contributing to diversifying tourism products.
With a system of muddy rivers and canals, Vinh Long possesses the potential to develop river tourism associated with relics, craft villages and indigenous culture. At the same time, this type also promotes infrastructure investment and conservation of the underwater ecosystem.
However, in reality, river tourism products are still dispersed, unconnected and not outstanding in terms of experience. Some tour routes are experimental, monotonous products, lacking cultural stories. The infrastructure of wharves, stops and riverside services is also limited.
At the seminar, experts and tourism businesses inside and outside the province contributed many solutions and suggestions to build, promote and develop Vinh Long river tourism routes and destinations, improving the experience for domestic and foreign tourists.
Concluding the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to receive comments and contribute, coordinate with units to implement tasks to perfect river tourism products.
At the same time, strengthen propaganda and call for investment in waterway infrastructure and regional linkages. Tourism businesses need to improve service quality, develop unique products, and apply digital technology in communication and promotion.
