On August 22, at Nang Han Linh Temple, Muong Chien village, Muong Chien commune, the "Happy Xip Xi Tet" Festival 2026 and the report program on the results of restoring the Nang Han Festival took place.
Xip Xi Tet is a unique traditional cultural feature of the white Thai people, held in mid-July of the lunar calendar, usually on July 14.
The festival took place sôi nổi with community art performances, folk games such as throwing còn, tó má lẹ, tug-of-war, sạp dance, blindfolded duck catching. People and tourists participated together, creating a space for exchange imbued with the cultural identity of the lake area.


The highlight of the festival is the report on the results of restoring the Nang Han Festival and establishing the Muong Chien Nang Han Festival Preservation Club, contributing to preserving and teaching heritage to the younger generation.
The "Muong Chien Flavors" culinary contest gathers schools, villages in the commune and 3 teams from Quynh Nhai, Muong Gion, Muong Sai, contributing to promoting traditional cuisine.


Mr. Bui Dinh Hai, Vice Chairman of Muong Chien Commune People's Committee, said that the restoration of Nang Han Festival aims to preserve cultural values associated with the community, so that people can become the subjects to preserve and pass on heritage.
We want the festival not only to be restored but also to live in the community, so that the younger generation understands, participates and continues. This is also the basis for the locality to exploit cultural values to serve tourism development," Mr. Hai said.

Tourist Lo Thuy Quynh, in To Hieu ward, shared that the festival space brings a close experience, helping tourists better understand the customs, games and traditional cuisine of Muong Chien people.


Xip Xi Tet is associated with the restoration of the Nang Han Festival, helping cultural values continue to be present in community life. Through this, Muong Chien is gradually promoting heritage associated with tourism development, creating more livelihoods for people.
