On August 29, records in Vung Tau ward (HCMC) were quite clear, when the number of tourists coming to the locality was still sparse. At destinations, there were sparse people and tourists experiencing and exploring.
Contrary to the scene of traffic jams on some gateway roads leaving Ho Chi Minh City, the gateway roads to Vung Tau are clear, with little traffic. Only Tam Thang Square area (Bai Sau, Vung Tau ward) and Bai Truoc area gather quite a lot of people and tourists to participate in the Kun Marathon and Half Marathon being held in the area.
A few hotels have quite high number of pre-booked rooms. For example, a representative of Ibis Style hotel said that pre-booked rooms on August 29th reached about 80%; and reached about 90% on August 30th and 31st. Mercure Vung Tau is already fully booked for holidays.
However, most other accommodation establishments in the area recorded that the number of pre-booked rooms was not high. For example, at the 5-star Malibu Vung Tau hotel, the number of pre-booked rooms did not reach 50% during the holidays of September 2. Many other accommodation establishments (from budget to 3-star) also had a fairly low proportion of pre-booked rooms.
This holiday, the number of pre-booked rooms at our facility is quite low, just over 30%, for all holidays. It may be because the holiday lasts many days, so tourists prioritize choosing long trips," said Mr. Dang Luan - a guesthouse businessman in Bai Sau area.
According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, previously the local government had planned to welcome and serve, ensuring safety for tourists throughout the holidays. Functional forces will be strengthened at hotspots to divert traffic, regulate traffic and promptly handle arising situations.
At the same time, strengthen inspection and review of listing and selling at the right price, ensuring that there is no overcharging situation; ensuring food safety and hygiene, maintaining environmental sanitation in the area throughout the holidays.
