On April 2, the Office of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province said that the locality had held a meeting to listen to a report related to the proposal to pilot a 2-story open-top bus route serving tourism in the area.
According to a report by the Department of Construction, the 2-story open-top bus route is invested by Vega City Joint Stock Company, not using state budget.
The route is expected to operate in the form of a circular tourist bus, departing from the Vega City area (That Theater), passing through the central points of Nha Trang and turning around at alley 86 Tran Phu.
The route is about 12km long, using clean energy vehicles, with at least 2 vehicles participating in operation.
Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily, not serving during peak hours (from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM and from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM).
Ticket prices are self-declared, printed, and issued by the operating unit in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction. The pilot period is expected to be 3 years.
At the meeting, opinions agreed that the pilot implementation of the bus route will contribute to diversifying tourism products, improving service quality, and promoting local tourism development.
However, delegates also suggested that it is necessary to continue to review the route, technical infrastructure and traffic organization plans to limit congestion and ensure safety when put into operation.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Huyen agreed on the policy of investing in a 2-story open-top bus route.
At the same time, requesting the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Traffic Police Department and related units to review and propose additional suitable routes; soon complete business and exploitation plans, in which specifically identify the locations of reasonable stops and passenger pick-up and drop-off points.
