Short but fully enjoyable vacations
No longer waiting for rare long holidays in the year, many young people today are switching to short-day travel as a way to refresh themselves and regenerate energy quickly.
Ms. Nguyen Minh Anh (26 years old, marketing staff in Hanoi) shared that she often books hotel rooms in locations about 20-30 km from the city center on weekends to reward herself after stressful working days.
I don't have much time to travel far, and the cost is also quite high. Traveling close within a range of 20 - 30 km helps me both save money and feel like I'm on a real trip," Ms. Minh Anh said.
Similarly, Mr. Tran Duc Huy (26 years old, working in the technology field in Hanoi) said that he often chooses suburban resorts to escape the city for short days.
“Just 1-2 hours of travel is enough to get to a quiet space with a swimming pool and delicious food. The important thing is to really rest without having to prepare too much,” Mr. Huy shared.
The common point of these young people is that they no longer put too much emphasis on going far or to famous places.
Instead, they prioritize experience and relaxation. A vacation does not need to be long, but it needs sufficient quality to rebalance life.
Instant noodle tourism of modern life
According to Mr. Bui Thanh Tu (Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company), the rise of short-day tourism is not a temporary trend, but clearly reflects changes in modern life. First of all, time and work pressure make many people no longer have enough conditions to make long trips.
Customers today, especially office workers, find it very difficult to arrange long vacations. Therefore, they prioritize short trips that are easy to organize and do not affect work," Mr. Tu analyzed.
In addition, increasing travel costs, from air tickets to accommodation services, also make consumers consider more carefully. Tourism has become a reasonable option as it both saves costs and ensures resort needs.
In big cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, more and more high-quality hotels, resorts, and homestays are appearing, meeting the need for rest right in the heart or the suburbs. This helps short-day travel no longer be a temporary choice, but become a complete experience," Mr. Tu shared.
Notably, tourism is gradually shifting from a major event of the year to a regular consumption habit. Young people no longer wait for holidays or long holidays to go, but can create small holidays whenever needed.
It is predicted that in the future, this trend will continue to grow strongly, especially in large cities. To adapt, the tourism industry needs to design short-term, flexible product packages such as 2 days 1 night, 3 days 2 nights with simple service booking procedures, while enhancing the experience factor such as spa, cuisine or family activities," Mr. Tu emphasized.
