    Soc Trang - The tower house with thousands of small towers on the roof, with ancient Khmer architecture, was built by a U100 man himself.

    Mr. Mai Huyen (91 years old) in Phu My commune (My Tu district, Soc Trang province) spent more than 20 years building a tower house to preserve the culture of the Khmer people.

    The Buddha statue has many pieces of illuminated mirrors on its forehead, chin, nose and both cheeks. According to Mr. Huyen, mirrors are objects that when people look at them, they see themselves. Therefore, the mirror is attached to the Buddha's face to receive the sunlight during the day and the moonlight at night. When people look into the mirror, their souls are enlightened, their minds are opened, and they understand everything.

    In addition to the tower house, Mr. Huyen also built a 3-room house for his family to live in. The house has a unique architecture, painted mainly in yellow. The walls and ceiling are decorated with many paintings with different stories and meanings. Currently, Mr. Huyen uses the 3-room house as a place to serve visitors who come to stay overnight, helping them enjoy the feeling of living in the traditional cultural space of the Khmer people in the South.

    Mr. Mai Huyen also built a cool house 3m wide, 4m long, 5m high, decorated with many Buddhist reliefs around, and inside the house there are stone benches for passersby to rest.
