The football tournament is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province in coordination with the Ethnic Television Board (VTV5) and local authorities.
The tournament took place in an emulation atmosphere to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels; commemorate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day, while promoting the movement of sports training and improving health in the ethnic minority community.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh - emphasized: The Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament is a "unity festival", where women in the highlands express their confidence, strength and enthusiastic sportsmanship. The tournament will contribute to continuing to encourage the sports training movement, contributing to promoting gender equality in the community.

This year's tournament brings together 8 women's teams with 130 athletes from Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang.
The teams will compete in a 7-a-side football format, divided into 2 groups, with 15 matches taking place from December 3 to 7.
Athletes are San Chi, Dao, San diu, Tay... competing in traditional costumes.
The tournament is a healthy playground, contributing to connecting the community, encouraging ethnic minority women and youth to promote their talents, practice health; at the same time, promoting the cultural image - tourism of Binh Lieu and spreading the sports movement in the highlands.
