FIFA collected 2 billion USD from the 2025 Club World Cup despite many controversies about the audience and quality of the match.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 has officially ended with Chelsea winning the championship, after a 3-0 victory over PSG in the final. But besides the professional factor, the most notable thing is the revenue that this tournament brings in of more than 2 billion USD.

Held for the first time with 32 teams, the expanded version of the Club World Cup quickly became the event with top commercial value in the history of FIFA-run tournaments. The revenue mainly comes from television rights, with a deal of more than $1 billion between FIFA and DAZN.

In addition, there are sponsorship deals, high-end hospitality services in host cities such as Los Angeles and New York, as well as revenue from ticket sales and sideline activities.

Total revenue from this tournament accounts for more than 15% of FIFA's $13 billion financial estimate for the 2023-2026 period.

Forecasting economic potential, FIFA has spent heavily on rewards: when the total prize money is up to 1 billion USD, of which Chelsea received 115 million USD, while PSG has a budget of 107 million USD. Even teams that stopped from the group stage received more than 10 million USD.

However, financial success did not come with a smooth reception from the audience. Some matches in the group stage recorded low spectators, especially matches without European representatives. In contrast, TV and digital platform views have increased sharply.
