On the morning of November 15, at the Binh Duong Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center's Multi-purpose Gymnasium, the 2024 Binh Duong Provincial Basketball Club Tournament officially opened, attracting the participation of 240 athletes from 16 basketball clubs in the province. The tournament is part of the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", aiming to promote the basketball training movement and develop sports in Binh Duong.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee, along with leaders of departments, agencies, referees, coaches and athletes from clubs.
This year’s tournament features 15 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams, competing in a round-robin format. Winning teams will receive 2 points, losing teams will receive 1 point and dropping teams will receive 0 points. The two teams with the best results in each group will advance to the semi-finals and continue to compete in the finals.
The tournament is not only an attractive sports playground but also an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn and improve their professional skills. At the same time, the tournament also contributes to evaluating the organization, training and development of basketball in localities, and at the same time selecting outstanding talents for provincial teams to participate in regional and national sports tournaments in the future.
