The race in the mountainous town of Pleiku attracts over 5,000 athletes

Gia Lai - Marathon aims to contribute to promoting the image, culture, and people of Gia Lai in general and TP. Pleiku in particular.

On the afternoon of 9.8, the People's Committee of Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province, organized the announcement of information for the "Gia Lai City Trail 2024 - The Great Dream".

"Gia Lai City Trail 2024" is a running competition organized by the People's Committee of Pleiku City in collaboration with the People's Committee of Chư Păh District and other sponsoring units.

This is the second year the running competition has been organized and has become one of the major sports activities in Gia Lai Province. This year's competition will be held over two days, 16 and 17 November.

On 17 November, athletes will officially start running from 3 pm to 1 pm with four distances: 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km. The award ceremony will be held at the main gate of Biển Hồ Tourist Area (Tôn Đức Thắng Street, Biển Hồ Commune, Pleiku City).

The running routes for the competition will be a mixed terrain route, combining running on streets and trails, hills, and mountains within the territory of Pleiku City and Chư Păh District.

Athletes will have the opportunity to experience the surrounding routes of Biển Hồ Tourist Area, hundreds of years old forests, Bửu Minh Pagoda, Ngô Sơn rice fields, Chư Đang Ya volcano, and other attractions.

According to the statistics of the Organizing Committee, more than 4,200 athletes from 50 provinces and cities and some foreign athletes have registered to participate. The Organizing Committee expects the competition to attract 5,000-7,000 athletes and become the largest running competition in the province to date.

In his speech at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Sung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Pleiku City, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: "The running competition aims to contribute to promoting the image, culture, and people of Gia Lai in general and Pleiku City in particular."
