At just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal has emerged as the most notable player in Europe. Last year, he won the Golden Boy and Kopa Trophy, both awards for best young player.
Not stopping there, many football experts also believe that Yamal is capable of winning the Golden Ball in the future. Most recently, Atletico Madrid legend Paulo Futre shared the same opinion.
Paulo was quoted by Mundo Deportivo: Lamine is a phenomenon. Right now, everyone is looking for the next Ballon d'Or winner and I think he will conquer this award many times in the future.
Currently, Yamal is still maintaining his high form at Barcelona. This season, the 17-year-old star has played 34 matches, scoring 11 goals and 17 assists in all competitions. This form helps Barcelona lead the La Liga rankings, as well as advance straight to the round of 16 of the Champions League.
Speaking more specifically about Yamal's playing style, the Atletico Madrid legend commented: "Lamine plays with an incredible personality, quality and courage. If I had to sign a Barcelona member, it would be Lamine. Then we can go to Raphinha and Pedri".
For his part, Lamine Yamal is also very hungry for the Ballon d'Or. He wants to break the record of Ronaldo De Lima, the youngest person to win this award at the age of 21. At the age of 17, the Barcelona midfielder still has 3 years to achieve this goal.
At the 2024 Kopa awards ceremony, Yamal revealed: They told me that one day I could break Ronaldos record. It's great to have such a career.
I hope I will win the Ballon d'Or soon, as soon as possible. Every player wants that. But the important thing is to enjoy yourself, then everything will be fine.
