Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he will not compete in the FIFA Club World Cup taking place in June, showing a high possibility of staying at Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed to reporters that he will not compete in the FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving many offers from participating teams.

He said at a press conference before Portugal's UEFA Nations League final against Spain yesterday (June 7):

"I will not participate in the Club World Cup. Some teams have contacted me, some have reasonable proposals, some others have not, but I can't do everything. We can't complete everything."

The Portuguese superstar's current contract with Al Nassr club in the Saudi Pro League expires at the end of June. When the transfer window opened earlier this month, there was much speculation about Ronaldo's ability to participate in the Club World Cup.

However, there are rumors that Al Nassr is confident that it can keep the 40-year-old player. The sports director of Fernando herero club said the team is still negotiating with him, hoping to find a solution to extend his contract.

If the two sides reach an agreement, it is known that Ronaldo will extend his contract until 2027. Saudi Pro League teams continue to invest heavily in global stars, and Ronaldo is considered the foundation for Al Nassr's ambitions.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January 2023 after ending his contract with Man United two months earlier. The former Real Madrid star has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances for Al Nassr.

At the moment, he is with the Portuguese team preparing for the UEFA Nations League final against Spain, taking place at 02:00 on June 9.
