On the morning of November 4, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and Honda Vietnam Company launched the Helmet Giving Campaign for First Grade Students in the Central Region for the 2024-2025 school year with the theme "Keeping Dreams Alive".
At the program, students decorated their dream helmets and competed in traffic safety knowledge. Many parents participated in traffic safety training and practiced safe driving skills.
Mr. Le Kim Thanh - Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee said that the traffic accident situation is still very complicated, the risk of occurrence is still high. In 2023, traffic accidents caused casualties to about 2,100 children (accounting for about 7.8% of the total number of victims), of which about 900 children passed away permanently.

This activity contributes to forming the habit of wearing helmets among motorbike users in Vietnam, thereby increasing the rate of wearing helmets that meet national technical standards to 100%; propagating and educating about traffic safety laws and regulations for students, teachers and parents at many scales from the central to local levels.
"The lovely helmets that meet national technical standards given to the children on their first day of school will be a memorable memory in their first school year, becoming a foundation for the habit of always wearing standard helmets when participating in traffic," said Mr. Le Kim Thanh.
