On November 10, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy organized a scientific workshop on "orientation for developing vaccine learning in postgraduate training".

Vietnam is entering a period of rapid population aging, with more than 12 million people aged 60 and over. Although the average life expectancy is about 74 years, the healthy life expectancy is only about 65 years, meaning each person has 810 years to live with illness. In that context, vaccination is considered an effective preventive measure, helping to reduce the burden of disease and protect public health.

Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat, President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that many developed countries have included vaccine training in medical training programs, in order to improve the capacity to advise and practice vaccination for health workers. The implementation of postgraduate vaccination in Vietnam is an important step to strengthen preventive medicine, towards a "lifetime vaccination" program in the context of an aging population.

According to experts, the new training program not only helps students access updated knowledge about new-generation vaccines, but also applies artificial intelligence in research and epidemic monitoring.

At the same time, on November 11, the school continued to organize a workshop on "Effective vaccination strategies for an aging world", with 150 family doctors and hundreds of domestic and foreign experts attending online. The content focuses on personalized vaccination schedules and vaccination instructions for adults according to international standards.
