Each painting on a helmet contains a message that the students want to send to the whole society about implementing traffic safety regulations.

With the idea of drawing a happy family on a helmet, and advising drivers to "don't drive if you drink alcohol", Trinh Bao Ngoc, class 6 V02, just won first prize in the helmet decoration contest "LTV draws quality - wears quality", organized by Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School, Tan Trieu campus, Hanoi on the evening of December 22.

To complete the work, from the idea to the completion, Bao Anh took about 2-3 days. First, she sketched the hat in pencil, then colored it in with colored pens. From afternoon to evening, the female student completed the work.

“A few years ago, I witnessed a person near my house die in an accident while not wearing a helmet. Fear and shock have haunted me ever since,” Bao Ngoc shared about the reason for choosing the topic to express.

The female student shared that she loves drawing every day. She is self-taught and often draws in her free time. She has participated in several competitions since primary school but has not won any prizes.

“I was very surprised when I won the prize. I hope my message spreads to everyone: Obey traffic laws, wear helmets when participating in traffic and do not drink and drive. Only then will families be safe and happy,” Bao Ngoc confided.

Hoang Duc Anh, a student of class 8N, also participated in the helmet drawing contest with the desire to convey the message about wearing helmets when participating in traffic to his peers and the whole society.

Duc Anh himself had a relative who died in a traffic accident because he was not wearing a helmet. From his own loss and pain, the male student thought that he needed to do something to spread the message to the community.

“Not wearing a helmet is the main cause of traffic accidents. Through my product, I want to convey the message “wear a helmet once, stay for life” – Duc Anh shared.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Binh - Principal of Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School informed that the contest is part of the propaganda campaign on "Traffic Safety" and has received a large response from students.

Mr. Binh commented that the students' works were creative in both content and presentation. This showed that the students were aware of ensuring traffic safety.

"Through this contest, in addition to sending a message to students, the message is also spread to the whole society" - Mr. Binh shared.

Commenting on current traffic safety education, Mr. Binh said that this content has been incorporated and integrated into many subjects such as: Local education, career guidance experience activities, etc.

However, there are still some students who do not comply with traffic safety regulations, mainly due to their parents – the ones who provide transportation for them. Some parents are not exemplary, not wearing helmets when participating in traffic. Some parents even make excuses for themselves and their children when they violate traffic laws.

“There must be cooperation between schools, parents and the whole society in traffic safety education. These activities need to be maintained continuously and there must be appropriate sanctions to be able to completely resolve cases of violations of traffic safety regulations, causing pain and loss" - Mr. Binh emphasized.
