Hai Phong - On July 17, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee met, listened to reports, and gave opinions on the investment policy for 2 projects related to education.

According to the report of the City People's Committee Party Committee, to implement the Investment Project to build the Ring Road 2 section of the Tan Vu - Hung Dao - Bui Vien route, about 4,924.2 m2 of land from Mac Dinh Chi High School in Hung Dao ward was reclaimed.

Therefore, the remaining area of the school does not ensure the minimum area according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. On the land area expected to be reclaimed, there are a number of school works. The remaining facilities after recovery have not met the needs of learning and teaching and have not ensured regulations on facilities standards for high schools.

The City People's Committee has agreed to the policy of expanding Mac Dinh Chi High School with an area of about 1.07 hectares of agricultural land to meet the conditions on land area, build facilities for teaching and learning activities and a National Standard School.

On that basis, the Investment Project for Construction and Expansion of Mac Dinh Chi High School Phase 1 has a total investment of 225.311 billion VND from the budget. The project will build works including: a 4-storey headquarters with a construction area of about 701 m2; a 4-storey classroom with an area of about 1,207 m2; a 4-storey functional classroom with an area of about 787 m2; a multi-purpose house with an area of about 853 m2; a teacher parking lot with an area of about 315 m2... and investment in purchasing and installing equipment, machinery for learning, fire prevention and fighting systems.

The Ngo Quyen High School Upgrade and New Construction Investment Project is implemented at address No. 2 Me Linh, Le Chan Ward. The project aims to meet the material requirements, improve the quality of education and ensure that the facilities are in accordance with the standards of a national standard school level 2. The project will build 5-storey classrooms with a floor area of about 8,590 m2; build technical infrastructure outside the house and auxiliary works; purchase and install equipment for learning, elevators, air conditioners, fire prevention and fighting systems... The project has a total estimated investment of 113.252 billion VND from the budget. Both of the above projects will be implemented in 2025 - 2027.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee agreed on the policy of the Investment Project for the construction and expansion of Mac Dinh Chi High School Phase 1 and the Investment Project for upgrading and building a new Ngo Quyen High School. As for the Ngo Quyen High School Upgrade and New Construction Investment Project, opinions say that it is necessary to review the design between school areas to ensure consistency, because this is a historical and cultural work that needs to be preserved.

Concluding the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau requested the City People's Committee Party Committee to direct relevant departments, branches and units to implement projects in accordance with regulations, paying attention to ensuring standards, criteria, planning and using appropriate resources. The implementation of projects needs to be urgent and on schedule to ensure students' learning.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee requested the City People's Committee Party Committee to direct the review and evaluation of the city's school and educational institution system to classify, propose, study and develop a project to ensure investment with a systematic, long-term roadmap, closely following the city's requirements and tasks. In particular, minimize investment in small-scale repair and renovation, especially in schools with works subject to conservation. Units do a good job of dividing students, strengthening the system of vocational training institutions to meet the human resource needs of businesses in Hai Phong city.
