Debating is considered an academic sport that has been receiving a lot of attention in Vietnam. Not only does it help young people hone their language skills and cultivate important skills, it is also a bridge between young talents and experts around the world.

With the philosophy of liberal education and constantly providing learning activities to open up talents, develop depth of thinking and capacity - qualities for students, Olympia School (Hanoi) organizes a live debate competition in English: Vietnam International Public Forum Championship (VIPFC).
VIPFC is the first competition in the North to apply the Public Forum rule. Instead of having to research a wide range of topics, the Public Forum rule requires teams to debate on a topic throughout the tournament, usually revolving around economic, political, and social issues.
The competition is open to students from grades 6 to 12 studying at Vietnamese and international schools, aiming to hone their persuasion, in-depth research, critical and creative thinking skills, while encouraging students to express their views and promote innovation.
With the theme: “Single-use plastic bags should be banned”, the contest helps students practice persuasion skills, in-depth research, critical and creative thinking, while encouraging the expression of opinions and promoting innovation.
The competition will take place on November 9, 2024. Students register in teams of 2 members and in 2 tables corresponding to their grade level.
