On November 16, Thanh Dong University, Hai Duong province held the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the school's founding (2009-2004) and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024).
Attending the event were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Hong Yen - Standing Member of the National Assembly's Economic Committee, Associate Professor Dr. Luu Bich Ngoc - Chief of Office of the National Council for Education and Human Resources, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments and branches in the province, representatives of partners and lecturers along with more than 1,000 new students of the school.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung warmly praised the achievements that the school has made in the past 15 years. The school currently has 466 staff and lecturers, including 389 permanent lecturers, the proportion of lecturers with post-graduate degrees is 92.2%, of which 42.7% of lecturers have degrees, titles of doctorate, associate professor, professor.
Up to now, Thanh Dong University is training 25 majors at the undergraduate level, 6 majors at the master's level and Economic Management at the doctoral level with a scale of more than 8,500 students in the regular, distance learning and graduate programs.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung believes that Thanh Dong University will continue to achieve more success and victories on the path of teaching, innovation and integration, contributing to making Hai Duong province increasingly rich and strong.
At the opening ceremony, Thanh Dong University organized a cooperation signing program between Fujian Technical Education Academy, Beijing Huasheng Jingthe Co., Ltd., and Tonly Vietnam Co., Ltd. This activity aims to improve the quality of training and teaching as well as open up opportunities for exchange, study, scientific research, and technology transfer for the school's lecturers and students.
At the same time, Thanh Dong University has decided to award scholarships to 270 students with levels ranging from 50 - 100% of tuition fees such as: Dream Wings Scholarship, Social Policy Scholarship, Priority Training Scholarship. This activity aims to encourage and promote students with high academic achievements, gradually improving the quality of student output.
