The contest opened at De Nhat Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City and will be contested directly at Saigontourist Tourism College and Hotel. This year's contest has the participation of 125 teams, creating a bustling atmosphere, full of creativity and passion for the culinary profession.
The "Young chefs" contest organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City aims to create a useful playground, practical career orientation for high school students and continuing education - vocational education centers in Ho Chi Minh City.
To equip candidates with necessary skills before the competition, the training round of the "Young chefs" competition took place from April 10-11 at Saigontourist Tourism and Hotel College, attracting nearly 400 students to register from Thu Duc City and districts of Ho Chi Minh City, providing valuable opportunities for them to soon be exposed to a professional and modern learning environment.
Within the framework of the training round, candidates will directly experience practical activities such as: cooking Vietnamese dishes "Triple-colored roasted chicken wings" and mixing summer drinks - activities that help practice skills, improve creativity as well as teamwork spirit.
The special highlight of the training is the sharing of inspiration "Secret, revealing the exam" by the Head of the Department of Technical Processing of Saigontourist Food School. Practical experiences and psychological "tricks" to overcome the pressure of the pressing exam have transmitted more motivation, belief and arousing passion to students who want to pursue the culinary field.
Not only stopping at professional knowledge, the training round also focuses on developing professional style, situation-solving ability, and cooperation spirit - essential factors for development in the modern service industry.
Accompanying the 10th "Young chefs" Contest are the support of Saigon Tourism Corporation Limited, Saigontourist Tourism and Hotel College and De Nhat Hotel. In addition, Saigontourist School also sponsors high-value scholarships for contestants attending and contestants with high achievements in the Competition.
