On August 21, Can Tho City People's Committee issued a preliminary report summarizing 5 years of implementing Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP dated December 30, 2019 of the Government stipulating penalties for administrative violations in the field of road traffic. and railways (amended and supplemented in Decree No. 123/2021/ND-CP dated December 28, 2021 of the Government).

According to Can Tho City People's Committee, during the implementation process, departments and branches have focused on promoting propaganda, dissemination and legal education. Thereby, 846 propaganda campaigns were organized, with 101,500 participants, and 270,099 propaganda leaflets were distributed to people working, studying, and living in the city.
After 5 years of implementation, the result of handling administrative violations in the field of road traffic is 179,968 cases. Of these, 168,599 violations were handled; warning in 843 cases; The amount collected and paid to the State Treasury is 269,106,802,000 VND; 35,786 vehicles were impounded; Stripped of the right to use licenses and practice certificates for a limited period in 29,960 cases. Paying fines via online public services is 26,075/30,176 cases (accounting for 86.40%).

The report also states that, compared to the same period 5 years before the issuance and implementation of the Decree, the number of cases was 482/559 cases, a decrease of 77 cases (13.77%); number of deaths 338/467 people, down 129 people (27.62%); The number of injured people was 245/318, down 73 people (22.95%). Property damage was estimated at 1,979,120,000 VND.
The People's Committee of Can Tho City also believes that, since the Decree took effect, it has created a strict legal corridor with strict, deterrent and educational sanctions, achieving effectiveness in protection work. ensure security, order, and traffic safety in the city.
