For the actress, this is not only a charity trip, but also a journey that makes her look back at what she had gone through in movies and realize the fragile line between role and real life.
Phuong Anh Dao shared that she was used to transforming into characters with many injuries and misfortunes. However, this trip made her realize that the pain of the character can be "written" with a beautiful ending, while the difficulties of children in the highlands are a reality that happen every day.
When I saw the little children crossing that distance, I stood still for a few seconds, Phuong Anh Dao said. She could not hide her emotions when she knew that the children's daily meals were only about 20,000 VND. Many days without power, teachers have to group firewood cookers to cook. Some students come to class with just a handful of white rice but still smile innocently.
The journey continued at Tan Thanh school (Chieng Son commune, Son La), where there were 153 students but only an old water purifier was overloaded. Many classrooms are peeling and lacking equipment, one room is both an IT class and a place for teachers to have lunch. No film can fully recreate this deprivation, Phuong Anh Dao sighed when placing her hand on the plastered wall.
Through the program, many practical supports were presented: TVs, water purifiers, desks, chairs, computers for Son La students; pulling electricity, building playgrounds and supporting necessities for preschool children in Thanh Hoa. Each gift is a small hope, contributing to making their journey to school less arduous.
