This is the third swimming pool sponsored by the Vietnam Talent Development Fund after two swimming pools donated to Ms. Sau Thia in Dong Thap and Phu Thuan Primary School in An Giang to respond to the drowning prevention program for children nationwide.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Le Nguyen Hoa, representative of the Vietnam Talent Development Fund, said: Vietnam is a country with dense rivers, lakes, and canals, but there are many children who do not know how to swim, causing heartbreaking drowning cases. Therefore, teaching young children to swim is extremely necessary, because it not only helps them equip themselves with self-defense skills but also helps parents feel more secure when their children are exposed to water.
Therefore, when the state launched the program to prevent drowning for Vietnamese children, the Vietnam Talent Development Fund decided to respond, join hands with the government, and sponsor lakes in many localities to teach swimming to children in the area. This is also the reason why the Vietnam Talent Development Fund donated a community free swimming pool to Chu Se district, located at Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School.
Hopefully, with this swimming pool, many local children will know how to swim. We also hope that this will be the beginning, helping to discover and "grow" the future swimming talents of the country's sports".
Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School is located in a remote area of Chu Se District, Gia Lai Province. The school currently has 632 students but the rate of unable to swim is up to 92%. Chu Se district has had many drowning accidents in the past year because children were not equipped with swimming skills. Up to now, Chu Se district has more than 50 schools but only has one old shared swimming pool with limited area.
Therefore, immediately after receiving the proposal of the Gia Lai Red Cross Society, the Vietnam Talent Development Fund conducted a survey and decided to sponsor a lake with standard swimming size for children (6m x 12m) for Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School.
In addition, the lake is also equipped with a water pumping system with a clo phage and a modern 8-wheel cleaning table to ensure the best water quality to serve students learning to swim.
In particular, on this occasion, the Vietnam Talent Development Fund also presented 148 children's swimming glasses and 230 boxes of Nuvi fruit milk to teachers and students of Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School. The total sponsorship cost for this period is worth more than 100 million VND.

Mr. Tran Dang Dong, Principal of the school, emotionally said: For a long time, the school's Board of Directors has long wanted to have a lake to teach students to swim. And today, that dream has come true. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Vietnam Talent Development Fund for sponsoring a lake that is not only good, durable but also beautiful for the school. We will start teaching children swimming this summer.
Not only the Board of Directors, but also students studying at Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School are extremely happy when the swimming pool is inaugurated and put into operation.
Siu Ly (a student in class 5A2) excitedly said: "So I'm about to learn to swim. My child has registered to learn swimming this summer. I hope that by the end of the summer I will know how to swim so that I am no longer afraid of water like before.

In addition to Nguyen Du Primary and Secondary School, this lake will also become a swimming pool teaching location for many neighboring schools in Chu Se district, thereby contributing to preventing drowning for children in the locality.
Initiated by three famous businessmen - football coaches including: Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc - Chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group; Mr. Vo Quoc Thang - Chairman of Dong Tam Joint Stock Company and Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Chairman of Nutifood Company; The Vietnam Talent Development Fund will help shape the path of talents to practice and promote their strengths in many different fields such as: culture, arts, sports, etc.
In addition to " takes care of" talents, the Vietnam Talent Development Fund will also accompany and be present wherever society needs it.
The Fund's budget is drawn from the profits of the Ong Bau Coffee system. Accordingly, Ong Bau Coffee will deduct 1,000 VND from each drink sold to contribute directly to the Fund.
