The program takes place from 1 to 11.5.2025. This is a practical activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), 50 years of tradition of Military Hospital 175 and welcoming the Party Congress at all levels in the Army, towards the XIV National Delegation Congress of the Party.
In the program, 300 people were screened for eye diseases. After screening, 50 patients who were indicated for cataract surgery were selected to undergo surgery using modern Phaco technique. This is a method of using soft crystals, helping to relieve pain, small surgical wounds, and patients can remove the ice in just a few hours. The entire cost of surgery is free, the surgeries are performed at Military-Civilian Hospital 16.
Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong - Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, said: "The "Shining of the eyes of Vietnam" program was initiated in 2020 with the goal of taking care of people's eye health, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love, joining hands to support people in difficult circumstances".
To serve the examination and surgery, Military Hospital 175 has mobilized a team of highly qualified doctors from the Department of Ophthalmology and related specialties. In particular, leading doctors and the hospital's young doctors participated in the coordination, along with a modern equipment system to bring quality medical service experience to people in remote areas.
Not only free surgery, the program also gives patients 50 gifts including cash and gifts, each worth 1 million VND. In addition, Military Hospital 175 also presented 10 gifts to officers and employees in difficult circumstances at Military Hospital 16.
With the spirit of compassion and community responsibility, the program "Ranging the eyes of Vietnam" not only contributes to bringing light to the people but also affirms the pioneering role of the military medicine sector in caring for people's health.
