On December 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports presided over and coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen commune to organize the handover ceremony of theoretical, political, and traditional education books for communes and wards in the city in 2025. The activity was implemented according to Plan No. 823/KH-UBND of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on implementing Directive No. 44-CT/TW of the Secretariat and Notice No. 36-TT/TU of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Huynh Van Tho - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Bac Tan Uyen commune; Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Bac Tan Uyen commune; Mr. Nguyen Hung Son - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen commune and representatives of leaders of communes and wards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cao Van Chong said that the provision and supplementation of theoretical, political, and traditional education books for the grassroots level is maintained and implemented annually by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, thereby concretizing the Secretariat's policy on improving the quality of research and study of theoretical and political books among cadres, party members and people.
In the coming time, the Department will continue to coordinate with localities, publishers and publishing units to select a suitable list of books, and at the same time invest in upgrading the system of cultural institutions, grassroots libraries and strengthen resources for reading culture development.

Representatives of localities receiving books, Mr. Nguyen Hung Son - Vice Chairman of Bac Tan Uyen Commune People's Committee expressed his appreciation for the concern of city leaders and the Department of Culture and Sports.
He affirmed that localities will direct the allocation, management and effective exploitation of equipped book sources, initially focusing on displaying and widely introducing to officials and people, thereby spreading the reading movement in the community.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, 2025 is the 17th year that the Central Government has implemented the Project on equipping books for commune and ward levels and the 7th year that the city has implemented the program to provide and supplement theoretical, political, and traditional education books.
This year, the city equipped 10,602 books, including 142 titles belonging to three categories, focusing on political theory, policy and law dissemination, traditional education, history and life skills.
The equipping of books is assessed as contributing to improving the capacity and effectiveness of the grassroots cadre team, while promoting research, studying political theory and traditional education in the residential community in Ho Chi Minh City.
