The film "Mother Sea" revolves around the lives of people in the coastal areas before and after the storm passes.
Hue (Cao Thai Ha) is a married woman with children, but because she wanted to escape the hardship and poverty, she became an addict, despite doing things contrary to normal morality.
Unlike previous characters, Hue is the role that takes Cao Thai Ha the most effort but is also her most complete role. The role of Hue in "Mother Sea" is also the only TV series project the actress has accepted to participate in in in in the past year.
Cao Thai Ha said that when she received the script, she researched through many documents and received many comments from members of the film crew to play the role of an addict woman.
"During the two months of filming, I was Hue without having to play the role. Even after leaving the setting, I still wear the character's clothes to live the life of Cao Thai Ha.
Hue's life makes me both love and be haunted. What Hue wants is something most people want, which is a rich life, eating well, dressing well, and being pampered. But Hue chose the wrong path and paid a heavy price. This is also a life lesson for viewers to reflect on, Cao Thai Ha shared.
The hardships of the role and the harsh weather of the sea area caused Cao Thai Ha to lose 5 kg when participating in "Mother Sea". The actress said that Hue is the poorest, most unfortunate, unfortunate, and ugliest role she has ever played.
To get her role, there were scenes with heavy psychology and action that made her faint right after finishing the scene. With previous roles, I acted in roles sometimes, sometimes not, but in Mother Sea, I lived Hues life to the fullest until the film was finished. I have experienced the emotions of a poor person so that they have to make decisions despite being wrong and distorted like that, Cao Thai Ha said.
In the movie "Mother Sea", Cao Thai Ha co-starred with actor Hieu Hien (Hue's husband). She said she was lucky to work with an co-star who had the heart like Hieu Hien.
Regarding the preparation process for Hue's role, Cao Thai Ha shared that she did not invest much to create the character: "I went to ask each person for a dish, asked Ms. Kim Tuyen for a bag, asked each person in the film crew for an accessory to create the true quality of Hue, a poor woman but racing to dress for half a season, easily making the other person feel unsatisfied with her".
One of the reasons Cao Thai Ha accepted to participate in the film is because the actress hopes that when the role of Hue reaches television audiences, people watching the film will not dare to use drugs anymore.
"Mother Sea" marks the reunion of director - Meritorious Artist Phuong Dien with the screenwriting team Kim Li Bang - To To Chan.
