The film was made under the hands of director and screenwriter Bart Layton (author of American animals and The imposter). The work is adapted from the short story of the same name by writer Don Winslow, promising to bring a thrilling chase between criminals and investigators, interwoven with insides in human psychology.
In the film, Chris Hemsworth transforms into Davis - a notorious jewelry thief specializing in carrying out incidents along Highway 101. After many years of "facing off" the police, Davis decided to carry out the "last crime" - the robbery of a million-dollar diamond lot, in the hope of washing the sword. Accompanying him was Sharon Colvin (Halle Berry), the insurance officer in charge of that shipment. However, both of them did not expect Inspector Lou Lubesnick ( Mark Ruffalo) - who has been pursuing Davis for many years - to finally find the rules in the cases, opening a uncompromising tense pursuit.
The film trailer opens with Sharon's words: "You look like a person with many secrets". Not only a journey to chase criminals, Crime 101 is also an inner battle between three people torn between honor, morality and instinct to survive. Hemsworth described his character as a good person in circumstances forced to do bad things, creating a more complex and emotional criminal model than the usual cold-blooded impersonation.
The special highlight of the film is the reunion of two "superheroes Marvel" - Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo. From teammates in Avengers to two confrontations on the battle line between good and evil, both promising to bring a dramatic competition with deep psychological depth.
Crime 101 will premiere from February 13, 2026 in theaters nationwide.
