The film tells the story of 7 monks who possess extraordinary strength and indomitable spirit. It is a story of family love, teacher-student love, the flame of love between generations, the loyalty to the king and above all, the aspiration to protect national territory.
The film is directed by Nguyen Phan Quang Binh. He is the director of the films "Vu khuc con co", "Canh dong bat tan", "Quyen", "Secret of the Wind".
The action in the film was assigned to Johnny Tri Nguyen. He is a talented action director and actor.
From the eye-catching martial arts in the movie Heroic Bloodline, Dragon Trap to the impressive appearance in Hollywood movies like Cradle 2 the Grave or Da 5 Bloods. Currently, he is running a top martial arts academy in Vietnam and his deep understanding of martial arts will be the highlight of the film.
"I don't want to renew any film, the action has to be really new. However, this is also a challenge for a historical drama and I want to leave something impressive behind for the audience when I finish watching it, Johnny Tri Nguyen shared.
The film's music is dedicated to musician Quoc Trung - one of the leading musicians and music producers in Vietnam.
The film "The Priest of the Monk - The Secret of King Dinh's Tomb" is currently in pre-production. It is expected to start filming in November 2025 and be released in the summer of 2026.
