The film crew of "Cam" filmed in March and April 2024, in the two provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri.
Producer Hoang Quan shared that he wanted to find new and unique settings to realize his imagination of a horror version of the story "Tam Cam". "We especially wanted to film in Quang Tri because it seems that there are few movies that choose this place as a setting" - Hoang Quan said.
Director Tran Huu Tan said the film "Cam" has 4 main settings, 3 of which are in Quang Tri, including Ha Trung communal house, Truong Phuoc lotus pond and mangrove forest.
The remaining main setting is the ancient village of Phuoc Tich located in Hue, close to the border of Quang Tri province.
The director of the film "Cam" shared: "This is an ancient village of more than 500 years old, with many ancient houses with unique architecture of the Ruong house. I chose one of those houses for the scene of Tam Cam's family's house.
Tam Cam's father - Hai Hoang was a village chief, had a rich life and had servants. However, many tragedies took place in this house".
In addition, there is an interesting fact that in Phuoc Tich village, there is an ancient fig tree over 600 years old that existed before the village was established. This ancient fig tree is recognized as a heritage tree and has witnessed many ups and downs of the village.
The movie "Cam" is a horror version of the fairy tale "Tam Cam". The movie revolves around Cam - Tam's half-sister, and will have many creative characters and details, evoking a feeling of both strangeness and familiarity for the audience.
The movie "Cam" is scheduled to premiere on September 27, 2024 in theaters nationwide.
