With over 20 years of artistic activities, singer Nam Cuong has not only been successful in the music industry, but has also left his mark as an actor and MC.
According to the singer, this year he will celebrate Tet with his family in Ho Chi Minh City, combining performances in neighboring provinces to serve the audience. The owner of the song "Flying in the Galaxy" also takes on the role of actor and director at Ban Mai Drama Theater - a theater dedicated to children.
Especially for singer Nam Cuong, every year he personally decorates his house to welcome Tet to create a special mark for each spring. He confided: "Every year I will think of an idea to decorate and personally buy items to make miniature landscapes in the house so that everyone has a place to mark memories every year".
In addition to decorating the house, singer Nam Cuong is also busy shopping for clothes for his children like what his parents used to take care of him in the past.
One of the traditional dishes that singer Nam Cuong loves during Tet is banh chung and pickled pork - a specialty of Da Nang that his mother often makes during Tet.According to the singer, almost every house in Da Nang has one or two jars of pickled pork to eat during Tet.
Talking about Tet memories, singer Nam Cuong recalls the period from 2012 to 2015, when he often performed for audiences during the spring.
At that time, the singer often performed with mobile music troupes, also known as small, makeshift stages, with a tight schedule. In the first half of the month, he would perform mainly in the West; in the second half of the month, he would go to the Central region. One evening, singer Nam Cuong performed at 3-5 locations, each location 30-50km apart, sometimes up to 100km.
The singer said: "During the years of performing like that, I felt like I neglected my family too much. After that, I didn't perform like that anymore, I just selected suitable programs. Now the model of music shows like that no longer exists, but anyway, I have gone through a quite interesting period of Vietnamese art."
