The performance will be held at Ben Thanh Theater at 7:00 p.m.on October 24.
Mokshapat recreates the ancient Indian game Snake and Thang as a metaphor for the spiritual journey of life, an experience that touches the hearts of people in all cultures.
Through the delicate rhythm of Kathak dance, the echoes of lively Indian classical music, and emotional storytelling art, Mokshapat will take the audience on the eternal journey of the soul through love, desire, self and liberation.
Each "sname" symbolizes human weakness, while each "stairway" reflects virtue, creating a visual and emotional journey that transcends all language and boundaries.
This cultural exchange work is a testament to the increasingly deep cultural relationship between Vietnam and India, showing that performing arts can overcome differences and inspire mutual understanding. The program was edited and performed by artist Kathak Anupama Jha, currently living in Vietnam. The show features famous Indian musicians: Samiullah Khan (lyricist), Ashish Gangani (Pakhawaj), Mohan Gangani ( Tabla), Kishan Kathak (Sitor Group), Atul Shankar (Soro) and Amir Khan (Sirs).
Mokshapat is my most genuine work as an artist. This is not only a dance, but also a reminder that every ups and downs in life are part of the soul's journey towards liberation.Bringing this work to Vietnam is a great joy - a testament to the art that connects us to cross all borders - Anupama Jha, Director & Performing Artist shared.
With a captivating choreography and original music, Mokshapat is not just a performance, but a spiritual and artistic dialogue between two ancient cultures - both searching for meaning and harmony in the modern world.
