These two collections not only demonstrate the passion of designer Viet Hung but also his special affection for the people and land of the ancient capital of Hue.
The Thuong Nho Thuong collection has nearly 40 designs, inspired by the Hue ao dai. Designer Viet Hung creates creative designs when introducing fashion elements and modern cutting techniques to help shape the ao dai, adding curves to women.
The reason Viet Hung "younged" his body design is because he hopes this dress will be more popular with young people. Meanwhile, the advantage of the hammock is to cover up the shortcomings of those who are not confident in their figure.
He explained: Many young people today do not like to wear loose, fussy clothes, or show off their figure because they do not see themselves in them.
Hung changed the body shirt to design more modernly, suitable for the tastes of more people".
In addition to applying new sewing techniques, Hung also restores exclusive materials from weaving to dyeing. The embroidery of typical patterns in architecture, art... creates a new, more beautiful material, without being compared" - designer Viet Hung shared more.
Lotus flowers are also a typical flower of Hue, mentioned by many people when talking about the ancient capital. From this inspiration, designer Viet Hung made the Lotus Night collection.
On velvet material, Viet Hung recreated a sparkling moon night with stars conveyed through 21 designs.
This is the first time Viet Hung has painted lotus on velvet after making tens of thousands of lotus ao dai.
Designer Viet Hung and his team used the art of painting lotus thuc. He confided that painting on velvet is much more difficult than on other materials. Meanwhile, drawing lotus requires softness, so it is even more difficult.
Thanks to the team of skilled artisans, each design is like a work of art conveying the scent of lotus flowers in a starry night with profound depth.
Participating in the exhibition are two collections including runner-up Hong Hanh, Ngoc Trang, 2nd runner-up of the International Friendship King contest Nguyen Hong Ha, Miss Charm Thailand 2024 Pornsirikul Puatha, Mister Supranational Thailand Topz Nathanon, 1st runner-up Miss Supranational Thailand Muller Carina... and MC Quynh Hoa.
