According to musician Nguyen Quang, the music director's main task is to carry out all the musical ideas of a program, from choosing songs to mixing and deciding which singer will perform the song.

The male musician gave an example: if the music director assigns a song that is not the singer's forte, the whole song will easily be "spoiled", affecting the entire program.
To harmonize the musical personalities of the participating artists and the personality of the music director, musician Nguyen Quang believes that it is necessary to look at the common goal, which is to serve music to the audience according to the producer's direction.
When starting a show, the music director’s first job is to work with the music editor to determine the song list. Then, decide which singers will be suitable for the songs. In addition, the music director also determines when to have duets or trios to create new things for the show.
The music director must also pay attention to the rhythmic structure of the program. Knowing when to increase the tempo to warm up the atmosphere or decrease the tempo to balance the emotions of the audience to ensure the program runs smoothly and is not boring.
To do this well, the music director needs to arrange the song order properly and match the instruments with the vocals to attract the audience. Musician Nguyen Quang explains: “For example, after the bass male voice is a high female voice so that the audience’s emotions change continuously, so the program will not be boring.”
Referring to the power of the music director in connecting and harmonizing with famous artists, musician Nguyen Quang said that even top stars, when participating in a program with many other stars, still have to follow the arrangements of the program director and music director.
