This is your first attempt at the role of a unique tea farmer. What made you feel satisfied?
- Tuyen herself really likes characters with two different colors between the outside and the inside. When reading the script, Tuyen felt that tea, the tea growing profession in the changing vortex of the capital market has many shortcomings, then characters like Moc Tra, Doan Phi and her family are just the status of farmers who really cannot easily overcome challenges on their own.
Therefore, the character Moc Tra in the movie has a rough exterior but a deep inner life, which is completely reasonable.
Are films about rural areas and startups selective of audiences?
- The theme of countryside, family or any other theme is not the most important factor, but the plot and message.
How to make the most attractive script, the most beautiful and realistic images, combined with the actors' performances to bring the audience a very real and lifelike story. When the audience feels the story - that is the most valuable attraction.
Acting in the land famous for tea - Bao Loc, what impressed you most about the people here?
- I think Vietnam is an agricultural country, so when we exploit the topic of farming, there will definitely be a large number of audiences somewhere who will see their image in the film.
The story of a tea farmer, the Moc Tra family in the land of B'lao (Bao Loc) is a representative family of Vietnamese farming families.
They have many concerns. They have many difficulties facing the innovation of the market economy, the innovation of crop varieties... But they still maintain their belief in the traditional values of the farming sector, the cultural values of the traditional occupations of the locality.
How much effort did the actors and crew have to put in to get beautiful footage of this land?
- The scene this time was filmed in Bao Loc, one of the famous tea cities in Vietnam. With immense tea hills, it is the peace before the beauty of the plateau that makes me full of energy to transform into the role despite the difficulties of travel and weather.
Tuyen believes that with the carefully crafted films from the director, DOP and serious investment from the producer, the most beautiful and authentic films will be produced to conquer the audience.
