The project marks the 28th anniversary of artistic activities and depicts a new, more confident, and more modern image of the female singer in both music and life.
Why Dont You cry is not only the name of the EP but also a positive message Pham Quynh Anh sent to all women: love, cherish yourself and live happily in your own way. She shared: I want to have a motivating product for all women, of all ages. They deserve to be loved and beautiful in their own way."
Inspired by the fresh energy at Chi dep dap gio 2024, the female singer wants to continue that positive spirit through music. As the mother of three growing daughters, Pham Quynh Anh hopes that her products will have both emotional depth and a youthful breath to accompany her children on their journey to adulthood.
The EP includes 4 songs: Xinh sao phai khoc, Xinh sao phai khoc (dance version), La con say la and Doi ban. In which, the title track was composed by Rin9, with a modern, cheerful disco style. The rap part was written by Tuimi and performed by Dong Anh Quynh in the MV - an option that Pham Quynh Anh called "crazy but interesting". WOKEUP's arrangement makes the song more trendy and vibrant.
The remaining two songs have a strong familiar mark: Doi ban (composed by S•HUBE) - duet with Hoang Yen Chibi, once popular at Chi dep dap gio 2024; and La can say say (composed by Hamlet Truong) - a profound ballad, thanking the audience for accompanying Pham Quynh Anh for more than two decades.
The MV "Why Don't You cry" directed by Anh Tai Kien Ung, brings together the "Anh Tai - Chi Dep" group including BB Tran and Dong Anh Quynh. The work tells the story of a woman who realizes her self-worth and bravely comes out of an unfortunate relationship.
