"Hotgirl Squad" features a cast of famous veteran actors of many nationalities: Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia... and 600 supporting actors.
Not only investing in actors, the film has a setting spanning 5 countries: Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam. In particular, the scenes filmed in Vietnam depict majestic nature, with an artistic style and color that has never been exploited before.
The film focuses on hot topics of interest to many countries, including: Drug crime, illegal human trafficking and conflicts between many criminal gangs around the Golden Triangle area.
The film tells the story of 6 girls from Asian countries. They do not remember who they are or where they come from. The girls are rescued by Black, a mafia boss who sells drugs and human trafficking, and raised on a deserted island.
Growing up, 6 girls long to be loved. But life and fate force them to carry out risky missions, including becoming assassins to protect innocent children.
The script structure is novel, told through beautiful martial arts situations, suspenseful, surprising, and thrilling until the last minute, with both tears of emotional tragedy and bitter laughter. The main characters are both villains and protagonists at the same time.
"Heavyweight" cast
The highlight of the cast is People's Artist Hoang Dung, in the role of Sakolat - a challenging and important character. Before passing away due to a serious illness, People's Artist Hoang Dung was still tirelessly working on his art.
The movie Hotgirl Squad can be seen as his artistic “will” to humanity. He revealed his “master” acting ability through the villain Sakolat, who has a complex psychological life: both sinister and scheming; and full of affection…
Along with the veteran People's Artist Hoang Dung, the audience will see the performance of the "talented" Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat. He plays the son of the drug lord Sakolat. This debut role marked Duy Nhat's acting career after the peak of a Muay Thai fighter who was a 10-time world champion.
Competing against Duy Nhat is Huu Vi - a young man known as the "King" in several beauty contests. Huu Vi plays the role of Chien - the male lead in the fight against drug crimes and human trafficking.
The cast also includes comedian Hoang Son, winner of the Vietnam Golden Kite Award for best actor, the Golden Apricot Award for comedian and drama actor.
The film's female leads are new faces including Sam Sony (Cambodian actress and singer), Bao Uyen, Tue Minh, Thuy Trang, Ai Van. Notably, Tue Minh appeared in the Korean film "I bet you can't hold my handcuffs" which is causing a stir in Asia, achieving a record revenue of 54 billion won (over 1,000 billion VND) in Korea and 16 billion VND after 5 days of showing in Vietnam.
Hotgirl Squad is the product of director Vinh Khuong's passion, in a cooperation project between the Vietnamese private film studio Vietking Film and the Korean Entertainment Group Climix.
With over 30 years of experience in the profession, director Vinh Khuong has made a name for himself through over 20 works of various genres. He has won prestigious national awards at film festivals three times.
The film is expected to bring the strongest and most interesting experiences and emotions to the audience when it hits theaters on October 25.
