This is the first time in history that a transgender woman has brought a Vietnamese sash to the biggest beauty pageant on the planet, marking a historic milestone for MUVN in the journey to pursue the spirit of "Diversity & Empowerment" - diversification and empowerment.
MUVN President Valentin Tran shared that 2025 is a special year when the contest cannot be held in the traditional form due to objective factors: "We have planned a great season, but there are force majeure problems that make the program impossible. However, the mission of Miss Universe Vietnam remains unchanged - that is to give Vietnamese women the opportunity to shine in the international arena".
According to him, the appointment of a representative this year is a strategic decision that is carefully considered, in compliance with the procedures of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) and the approval of the authorities. This is not only a solution for a special competition season, but also demonstrates a new vision of MUVN - where beauty is defined by courage, intelligence and humanistic spirit.
Huong Giang, after 7 years of being crowned Miss Transformers International 2018, is considered a suitable representative to spread the message "Beyond Beauty - Behind the radiance of the crown".
Mr. Valentin Tran emphasized: Miss Universe is no longer a contest only for beauty. Huong Giang is a living proof of courage, transformation and the desire to contribute".
With a wide range of artistic activities and community projects, Huong Giang is expected to be a typical face for the image of brave and integrated Vietnamese women. MUVN said that it will accompany her throughout the entire preparation process, from training, image orientation to international campaigns - opening a new chapter for Vietnam at Miss Universe, where beauty comes with real value and influence.
